A long, old dock reaches out to the low tidal waters off of this fogbound New England shoreline. Adjacent to an old lobsterman's cottage near Rockport, Maine, this small skiff waits silently for its next outing. This scene had all the elements I love about the paintings from some of the Hudson River School painters, so I've layered the image with subtle textures and colors to provide some patina to the image and to provide a hint of the richness of the experience of being there.
